Promoting large events at The Historic Village
Kia ora, welcome to The Historic Village. We can’t wait to host and support your event here at Tauranga’s creative community hub.
This page provides information on some helpful, free marketing channels you can utilise to let our community know about your event.
Website listings
Submit your event to What’s On Tauranga
Ensure your event is listed on What’s On Tauranga! Once submitted, your event will appear on both What’s On Tauranga and the What’s on page of The Historic Village website. You can schedule your event listing in advance by selecting a live date during submission.
Image requirements
For your listing, you’ll need:
- Image dimensions: 1500 pixels wide by 1000 pixels high
- Design: Preferably low or no text for best results
If you don’t have access to graphic design software (e.g. Photoshop) to resize your image, try free tools like Paint (see the tutorial) or Canva or Express Adobe.
Homepage banner opportunities
As your event is large, we’d love to feature it on one or both homepage carousel banners. To qualify, please upload an additional image with the following specifications:
- Dimensions: 2000 pixels wide by 600 pixels high
- Design: Preferably low or no text
Submission process
After submission, your event will be reviewed by the Tauranga City Council web team and published on both the What’s On Tauranga and The Historic Village websites.
Timings
We recommend you create your listing as soon as possible, and at least 2 – 3 months prior to your event.
