Charming wedding venue set among scenic gardens
Walk beneath a rustic archway and up the rose-lined cobblestone pathway to make a grand entrance at your wedding.
This romantic wooden chapel was lovingly built in the 1970s using historic elements sourced from many different buildings and churches around the Bay of Plenty. Decorative and stained glass windows make this a light filled space and traditional wooden pews feature comfortable bench cushions for your guests.
Skillfully crafted tukutuku panels adorn the wooden walls and traditional kōwhaiwhai patterns grace the ceiling beams, reflecting New Zealand’s indigenous culture. A mural at the rear of the chapel symbolises the coming together of Māori and Pakeha through Christianity.
A booking at this popular wedding venue includes the Village Amphitheatre next door (free of charge), giving you flexibility and the security of both an indoor and outdoor option for your big day. The Village can also provide on-site beauty, hairdressing, reception venues and catering services, while our 5.5ha site features lush bush and rustic backdrops which are a wedding photographer’s dream.
