A much-loved film classic from 1987, adapted by William Goldman from his novel of the same name and directed and produced by Rob Reiner, The Princess Bride tells the story of a swashbuckling farmhand named Westley who, accompanied by companions befriended along the way, must rescue his kidnapped true love Princess Buttercup from the evil Prince Humperdinck. With its blend of humour, romance, and adventure, along with its self-aware, tongue-in-cheek style, The Princess Bride has endeared itself to audiences worldwide.
