Afterschool Art Mentorship with Sam Allen

Do you want to find your artistic direction? Or, to learn techniques to improve your artistic skills? Then the Youth Artist Academy is the place for you.

$15 per session or $120 for a full term

Growing up in Tauranga Sam found that there was afterschool practice for sport, music, dance and drama but nothing for visual arts. Now, he wants to provide an opportunity that he didn't get – The opportunity for young artists to have the space, time and community to practice and develop as visual artists.

In this afterschool academy you will be provided with exercises, techniques and mentorship specific to the direction you want to take your art. This academy is designed to support you and your art. So if you want to develop skill in drawing, painting, sculpture, digital art, design or any other medium you can think of, then Sam can help!

Participants must bring their own supplies specific to what they want to practice. Basic supplies like pens, pencils and paper will be provided.

Sam is a frequent collaborator and resident artist here at The Incubator in our Villa Studios. He’s a full-time muralist, painter and illustrator from Tauranga with murals in 8 countries throughout the globe. He has facilitated and created a sizable 29 public works of art over the past 6 years. You can see his work in the Cinema, in the Campus and all around Tauranga!
