The weather is cooling and Anzac day is approaching - that means it's time to commemorate Anzac Day in a meaningful hands-on way by creating beautiful, handcrafted poppies that symbolize remembrance.
Also promoting sustainability with upcycled materials and eco-friendly techniques.
Join us at the Creative Campus for poppy-making workshops in preparation for Anzac day.
Make your own poppy wreath from recycled fabrics for your door or interior. Or, make your own reusable ceramic poppy ornament for your garden, a headstone or to wear as a brooch to be worn every year.
Wreaths can be taken home after the workshop. Ceramic poppies will be underglazed at the end of the workshop, then they will be fired, ready to be picked up before Anzac day.
What's more, the fabulous tutors are Sarah of Sew Love, the sustainable textiles queen and our master of ceramics Sophie Evans.
We ask a $5 koha that will be collected as a donation to the RSA.
We are grateful for the support of this activity from Tauranga Creative Communities Scheme - Creative NZ funding.
