Step into Andy’s Gourd Bird Feeder Workshop for a relaxed, hands-on few hours of creativity. It’s the kind of easy, joyful making that turns into something lasting. With a little care, your finished feeder will welcome birds to your garden for years to come.
Andy has been growing gourds on his own property since 2005, and he brings along gourds that are already dried, cleaned, and ready to transform. All you need to bring is a spark of an idea - bold, whimsical, or beautifully simple. Andy is more than happy to help cut the holes, but if you're feeling adventurous, he’ll show you how to do it yourself.
Andy's great love in the art world is Pop Art, but over the years he’s delighted in exploring all sorts of styles. For the past five years, he’s been teaching his Bird Feeder workshops in Whakatāne, where he helps people turn a humble gourd into something personal, playful, and full of life.
