Bay of Plenty Indonesian Community Inc. and LieN Batik present - Batik workshop and Angklung showcase Come and share in this special one day event at the Creative Campus, rich in creativity and culture!

A two part workshop for you to learn traditional Indonesian art forms. Chose between the morning session or the afternoon session.

Either... Begin in the Creative Campus at 10am. Learn Indonesian Batik making - Batik Tulis - then continue with the Colet technique to bring out the colours in your own handmade Batik cloth. Following your Batik session, head to The Jam Factory to join in with an Angklung showcase. Angklung is a traditional Indonesian wind instrument made from varying lengths of bamboo tubes on a bamboo frame.

Or... Begin your session at 12pm with an Angklung showcase in the Jam Factory. Angklung is a traditional Indonesian wind instrument made from varying lengths of bamboo tubes on a bamboo frame. Then, head over to the Creative Campus to learn Indonesian Batik making - Batik Tulis - then, continue with the Colet technique to bring out the colours in your own handmade Batik cloth.

Saturday, 31 August 10am - 1pm or, 12pm - 3pm The Creative Campus and The Jam Factory, $20 for two activities!

Bring a lunch and enjoy some complimentary Indonesian specialities between 12 - 1pm.
