The Exhibition includes 4 judged sections, Contemporary, Traditional, Founders', and young Persons', with 3 of these being open to all embroiderers and textile artists. The works are diverse, encompassing original design and innovation, using predominantly textile and stitch.
The Association of New Zealand Embroiderers’ Guilds Inc (ANZEG) is the parent body of 58 Embroiderers’ Guilds throughout New Zealand, with a national membership of over 2,500. It is recognized as a voice for raising the profile of textile and stitched art. These guilds exist to build an awareness and appreciation of stitch and textile art. They educate, encourage, inspire, and promote the achievement of excellence.
ANZEG holds a Biennial Conference, which includes the Association weekend, National Embroidery Exhibitions, and National Embroidery School, which this year, 2022 is being hosted by the Tauranga Embroiderers’ Guild.
