Workshop: WAI.TAI with Robyn Kamira

Sunday 14 July

Sun 14 July, 14:30-17:00

The Artery, Historic Village, 159 17th Avenue, Tauranga

Learn an original waiata in te reo Māori from the WAI.TAI set list. WAI.TAI is a collective of musicians under the direction of Robyn Kamira, who writes in both te reo Maori and English, while fusing world music with Māori rhythms and vibes.

Everything from subdued and ambient, to rocking and toe-tapping. Lots of “sing along” music and plenty of variety. Several originals coupled with selected covers that are arranged in completely different ways.

We take people on a journey around the world (Middle-Eastern, Celtic, Eastern European, American, Māori and more). Instruments include guitar, banjo, fiddle, hand percussion, taonga puoro, bass, and harmonies.
