Book yourself right now into this workshop to learn a non-traditional method of extracting muka (flax fibres).
Muka is used to weave korowai (a type of cloak) or piupiu (a waist-to-knees garment used for kapa haka performances). The same technique can be used to finish other weaved items – like baskets (which you can learn to make at a subsequent course at the Artery in July).
In this workshop you will make a least one personal item from your extracted flax fibres.
This 3.5 hour workshop is for adults and bookings are essential.
